These 5 different liveries were applied to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 11F flotilla in 2019. The 11F is the oldest fighter formation in naval aviation. Heir to the squadron aviation known in 1919 as the AC1 squadron, the flotilla chose the winged seahorse insignia at the end of the 1920s. It changed its name several times to officially become the 11F flotilla in 1953. It used nineteen different aircraft models from the Seafire to the Rafale Marine, including the Aquilon and the Super Étendard. The 11F went through two world wars, the Indochina War, and the Algerian War. It thus tested the courage and self-sacrifice of its air sailors over the course of combats and battles. It has conducted thousands of operations from five aircraft carriers: the Béarn, the Arromanches, the Foch, the Clemenceau and the Charles-de-Gaulle. With the retirement of its Super-Etendard in 2011, the "furieuse" 11F became the second fighter unit to switch to the all-Rafale Marine. The design was created by R. Jultier, produced and affixed by the Createm company. An omnirole combat aircraft, the Rafale is produced in an Air Force version and a Navy version. The two versions are 95% identical. Operational on the French aircraft carrier Charles-de-Gaulle, the Rafale M is the only foreign combat aircraft capable of carrying out operations from American aircraft carriers using their catapults and arresting devices. Equipped with an external payload capacity of 9,500 kg, the Rafale M regularly carries out rapid reaction alert (QRA) missions for air defense and sovereignty, power projections and deployments for external missions, deep strike missions, air support for land forces or reconnaissance, as well as training and qualification sorties for pilots. In service with the French Navy since 2004, the aircraft has proven itself in combat since 2007.
