There are different models for the Air Force and the Navy, but whose elements are 90% common. The Rafale C is the single-seater version for the Air Force with features allowing it to carry out all kinds of missions (omnirole). Thanks to its external payload capacity of 9,500 kg and its versatile weapons system, the Rafale C can carry out very diverse missions that previously required the use of different specialized aircraft: air superiority and defense, ground support, long-range strikes, aerial reconnaissance, anti-ship strikes, nuclear deterrence, etc. In service with the French Air Force since 2006, the Rafale has proven itself in combat in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom) in Libya (Operation Harmattan) and more recently in the fight against terrorism in the Sahel-Saharan strip (Operation Serval), but also in Iraq and Syria from Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (Operation Chammal). In addition, the Rafale has been exported to Egypt, Qatar and India. This livery was applied during the 2017 presentation season. The design was created by Régis Rocca and its realization by the personnel of the Structure Workshop of the ESTA 15 004 Haute-Marne » stationed on the air base 113 of Saint-Dizier. This presentation season was led by Captain Jean-Guillaume Martinez (pilot instructor at the Rafale ETR 3/4 Aquitaine Transformation Squadron) under the direction of Captain Benoit Planche (Rafale Solo Display Presenter 2013/2014 and 2015). The RSD team obtained at the Royal International Air Tatoo (RIAT ​​2017) the "King Hussein sword" trophy rewarding the best flight demonstration during this air show.
